Building Pollution, Acrylic and Watercolor on Canvas, 100 x 80cm

Inspired by Julie Mehretu’s style, this piece aims to highlight the consequences of urbanization. The geometric shapes represent modern buildings; coming out of these shapes is wave-like smoke, representative of industrial pollution. The juxtaposition of vibrant colors against monochromatic grey smoke symbolizes the contrast between the good and bad impacts of urbanization. All of the elements present in the painting are in a dynamic state of motion, giving an overall impression of chaos, except for the orange and black solids, representative of barriers.
